BMT is an innovative app that quickly connects translators and those who need translation
through video calls.
Language barriers can present real obstacles when teaching a lesson, engaging in conversations on
the street, or participating in meetings with individuals who speak different languages.
BMT solves this by facilitating on-the-fly, live person-to-person translation sessions on
your phone.
We rely on the help of volunteer translators who offer their services without pay and in their free
time. Any user can register as a volunteer translator. This is an honorable service full of charity.
If someone is in need of a live translator with BMT they can find one with just 3 simple
taps: Select your language, the language you want translation into, and press "Submit Request". Once
a
translator answers, you'll be connected via voice and (optionally) video.
The app's interface is available in English, German, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian.
Translation is available depending on the registered volunteer translators and their specific
language combinations. Potentially in the future we can offer any language combination worldwide.
For the time being we focus our awareness on European languages such as English and German and
languages spoken by refugees or immigrants such as Ukrainian and Spanish. Future languages will be
Portuguese,
French and more. Please remember that all translators are not paid for their service and sacrifice
their own free time to help.
Can you translate? Add your translation-abilities to your profile on BMT. When someone
requests translation help that fits your profile, you'll get a notification to answer the call. If
you're busy, no worries — another translator can answer.
Remember: Many are called, but few
are
chosen.

Once you've received an invitation and downloaded the app, registering by using your invited email

The accuracy of the translation depends on different aspects: Complexity of the topic, the
availability of resources, the preparation of speakers, the audio and video quality. Of course the
experience and the knowledge of the translator plays a big influence as well. However we consider
translation by a real translator superior to machine translation and this is the great strength of
BMT.

No. Since we offer a live connection to a translator who can be anywhere in the world you need a connection to the internet.
More features are in the oven. Right now we have a “meeting mode” in place. This means you can add
more participants to an active translation call. When a user wants to speak to a group of people
that don't speak his language he can find a translator via the app and then invite this group via a
provided link. The participants then can benefit from listening to the speech or even interact with
the user via the translator if desired.
We are already planning a feature that will allow users and translators to make translation
appointments in advance. Currently, translators can only be contacted "on the spot".
Yes, BMT is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, ensuring widespread accessibility.
No, BMT only offers spoken translations. This is a unique approach since most translation apps only offer written translation where the meaning can get lost very easily.
BMT is free of charge for ecclesiastical use. This will never change. In the future we might additionally offer commercial use that would be chargeable.

available for specific language combinations is limited, it is
possible that they are currently unavailable due to personal

translation service the app offers is currently being developed,
and we are actively seeking volunteer translators. As more
translators register, the matching process becomes easier.
If you'd like to contribute, please help us spread the word
about the BMT app and invite potential translators to join us.
Therefore we recommend trying again later, as the availability of translators may change over time.
Alternatively, you can consider trying a different language combination that suits your needs, as it
may have more available translators at the moment.
Fun fact: Once you have sent out your translation request, you can see the number of translators who
are being contacted to handle your request. This will give you an idea of the current demand and
availability of translators for your language combination.

Firstly, thank you for your willingness to translate! To address this issue, it's crucial to
understand how our app operates. When a translation request is submitted, multiple translators with
the same language combination are simultaneously contacted. The first translator who accepts the
request will be connected to the requester and the call request will become invisible for all other
notified translators. If no translator accepts
the translation request, the request will automatically terminate
after 2 minutes.
Currently, push notifications persist in your notification center even if you miss a call due to
being busy. We are actively working on a solution to resolve this issue. Furthermore, the
notification sound for translation requests is currently a single tone, if any sound is played at
all. We are also developing an option for translators to have a ringing sound.
The translation call may also be missed if your phone is set to “silent” or is in “do
not disturb” mode.
We appreciate your patience as we strive to enhance the functionality and user experience of our
